Talk:Features table
From RdC-Wiki
The purpose is debatable
The use of the features table might be good looking, but not pragmatical:
- (premise) Different systems are developed for specific scenarios: Such as Wikis are for knowledge representation, or Slashcode for extended forum discussions.
- (statement) Trying to develop a system that at the same time tries to accumulate the features of many kind of systems, and expand them, might result in a behemoth both unwieldy to use and to develop.
- (statement) Comparison tables might make sense to compare products that compete on the same niche (e.g. different Java web application servers), but not to compare beasts of a different kind (e.g. a tractor versus a bus).
