Search Engine Lookup
Definition
When looking for further information on a topic, or links into an specific resource, you might use a search engine
Examples
- When looking for information about "Web Annotation", you enter that text in the search box
- When looking for links to the W3C Annotea project, you might enter "link:www.w3c.org/2001/Annotea/" in the Google Searchbox
Observations
- Search engine results are not updated inmediately, but when the turns comes for the search engine agent to crawl your site and re-index it
- Many words mean the same concept, and a word means many concepts. When you search a word like "ShiftSpace", only a few of the results apply to the Annotation plug-in. You might need to search different words with the same meaning, and discard a lot of non-related results to get the related information.
